Who Is Mido? Career History, Net Worth, Health Status, and Family Controversies

Mido was barely 18 when he arrived at Ajax in 2001 after catching attention at Gent. Towering, technically gifted, and fearless in the air, he immediately established himself as one of European football's most coveted young strikers. During the 2001, 2002 campaign, he notched 12 goals in 24 Eredivisie matches, helping the Dutch giants secure a domestic league and cup double.
His strike partner at the time was another brash, young forward named Zlatan Ibrahimović. The two shared a ferocious competitive drive, mutual respect, and volatile tempers. Their dressing room clashes became legendary. In March 2003, following a heated loss to Feyenoord in which Mido had been benched, the Egyptian forward entered the locker room cursing and threw a pair of scissors at Ibrahimović's head, missing him by inches. While Ibrahimović later recounted that the pair laughed about the incident minutes later, Ajax manager Ronald Koeman ran out of patience. Mido was promptly loaned to Celta Vigo, beginning a nomadic tour of Europe that defined the remainder of his playing days.
