Brendan Fraser’s Sons Griffin, Holden, and Leland: See Their Resemblance to Parents Brendan and Afton
The relationship between Brendan Fraser and Afton Smith began during the peak of 1990s Hollywood romanticism. The pair met on July 4, 1993, at a backyard barbecue hosted by actor Winona Ryder. Fraser was still riding the momentum of his breakout turn in School Ties and comedy hit Encino Man. Smith was building her own filmography, having landed roles in Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), Less Than Zero (1987), and Pyrates (1991).
Their professional paths crossed on screen in the 1997 box-office juggernaut George of the Jungle, in which Smith played a supporting friend to Leslie Mann’s lead character, Ursula. By September 1998, Fraser and Smith married in the garden at the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles. Over the next decade, their family expanded rapidly:
- Griffin Arthur Fraser was born in 2002.
- Holden Fletcher Fraser followed in 2004.
- Leland Francis Fraser arrived in 2006.
As Fraser’s star ascended with The Mummy franchise, Smith gradually moved away from screen acting. She shifted her attention to domestic life, authorship, and raising their young boys in suburban Connecticut, well outside the Los Angeles fishbowl.
