Where Is Afton Smith Today? Inside Brendan Fraser's Ex-Wife's Low-Key Life
By Elena Rostova
In recent years, online searches for Smith's name have produced misleading queries regarding her health and mortality. Search engines, heavily weighted toward automated scrapers, have periodically paired her profile with obituaries for private citizens who shared her name. The confusion expanded when notices like the October 2023 passing of an Afton Mae Smith in Idaho circulated through syndication aggregators.
Because Smith maintains neither a verified personal website nor public accounts on Instagram, X, or LinkedIn, algorithmic systems struggle to verify her active footprint. She gives no interviews and makes no commentary on industry news. That silence allows misinformation to linger unchallenged on social platforms. Verified public records show no medical crisis or legal incident regarding the former actress, whose absence from digital networks is entirely deliberate.
