What Kip from Napoleon Dynamite Looks Like Today: See Aaron Ruell's Transformation
By James H. Sterling
Q1: Did Aaron Ruell quit acting after Napoleon Dynamite?
Ruell did not retire formally, but he intentionally shifted his creative focus. While he voiced Kip in the 2012 animated adaptation and appeared in select indie projects like *Think Tank* and *On the Road with Judas*, he prioritized commercial directing and fine art photography over auditions.
Q2: Are Aaron Ruell and Jon Heder still friends?
Yes. The core cast members, including Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, and Aaron Ruell, remain close. They frequently appear together at anniversary retrospectives, film festivals, and pop-culture conventions, often recreating classic Kip and Napoleon dialogue for fans.
Q3: Did Aaron Ruell really sing the wedding song at the end of the film?
Yes. Ruell sang the awkward acoustic performance of Kip’s ballad to Lafawnduh during the film's post-credits scene. The lyrics were written specifically to match Kip's earnest, unvarnished devotion.
