Entering Indian Trail High School and Academy, Blagoev took command of the program's top flight. High school tennis programs in southeastern Wisconsin operate in a rigorous environment dominated by traditional tennis powerhouses from the classic Southeast Conference and Greater Metro Conference. Blagoev's presence at varsity singles tennis immediately altered the competitive balance for Indian Trail.
His play featured heavy topspin off both wings, combined with an ability to extend rallies from deep behind the baseline until opponents broke down.
