Graco Vs. Gracie Car Seat Fact-Check: Recalls, Counterfeits, and What You Need to Know

Comprehensive coverage of Graco Vs. Gracie Car Seat Fact-Check: Recalls, Counterfeits, and What You Need to Know, offering readers the most relevant details.

Q1: Does a company named "Gracie" make infant or convertible car seats?
No. There is no federally certified car seat brand named "Gracie." Searches for this name reflect typographical errors for Graco Children's Products, auto accessories associated with Gracie martial arts brands, or uncertified third-party marketplace clones.

Q2: How do I know if my Graco rotating car seat is part of the recall?
Check the underside of the base and car seat carrier for the white manufacturing sticker. Note the exact model number and manufacture date, then verify those details against the NHTSA recall tool or Graco's online customer service database.

Q3: Is it safe to use my SnugRide Turn & Slide without the rotating base?
Most infant carriers can be installed directly into a vehicle using the seatbelt guide path without the base. Consult your official Graco user manual under "Installation Without Base" to ensure your specific carrier model is certified for baseless installation while waiting for a replacement base.

Q4: What should I do if I suspect I purchased a counterfeit car seat online?
Discontinue use immediately. Report the listing to the platform (Amazon, Walmart, or other storefronts), file a complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission at SaferProducts.gov, and replace the seat with a verified unit from a recognized domestic retailer.

Q5: Where can I find a Child Passenger Safety Technician to check my installation?
You can locate certified technicians across the United States through the Safe Kids Worldwide national directory (safekids.org) or by using the inspection locator on the NHTSA official website.
