Everything to Know About Eugene Cordero: Nationality, Ethnicity, and Top Roles
By Sophia Al-Mansoor
Cordero’s rise is equally tied to comedy aficionados who recognize his uncanny ability to make minor characters unforgettable. On NBC’s The Good Place, his portrayal of Steven "Pillboi" Peleaz created one of the funniest subplots in modern comedy. Paired with Manny Jacinto's Jason Mendoza, Cordero inhabited the earnest, slightly reckless Jacksonville Florida youth subculture with warmth rather than cynicism. Critics pointed to their handshake, "Bortles!", as an emblematic moment of Michael Schur's writing brought to life by perfect comedic delivery.
On truTV’s Tacoma FD, created by Super Troopers veterans Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme, Cordero assumed a primary starring role as firefighter Andy Myawani. Over four seasons, he displayed sharp physical comedy and deadpan line readings, proving he could anchor long-running television comedies without losing his fresh, improvisational edge.
