With her children grown and pursuing independent professional goals, Rochon has engineered a career renaissance. Rather than settling into sporadic nostalgic cameos, she took on a centerpiece role within Carl Weber’s expanding crime-fiction television universe on BET+.

In The Family Business: New Orleans, Rochon portrays Big D, the calculating matriarch of a powerful Southern empire. The series transplants the high-stakes dynamics of the original New York-based franchise into the intricate underworld of Louisiana. Rochon's performance received swift critical acclaim from long-time fans who missed her command of complex dramatic roles.

The role allows her to project on-screen authority that mirrors her real-world stature: an industry veteran who commands respect, protects her inner circle, and controls her own narrative. Working on the New Orleans production marked a clean professional chapter, shifting public conversation away from past marital gossip and squarely back to her acting pedigree.
