Where Are They Now? the Complete Whereabouts Guide for the Tv Show Ally Mcbeal Cast

Robert Downey Jr. arrived in season four as attorney Larry Paul, providing an intoxicating romantic chemistry that temporarily stabilized the show's erratic romantic plots. Downey earned an Emmy nomination and won a Golden Globe for the role in 2001. His personal battles interrupted that arc, leading to an abrupt departure before the series ended.
What followed is one of cinema's greatest professional renaissances. Downey rebuilt his career through independent work in films like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang before director Jon Favreau fought to cast him as Tony Stark in 2008's Iron Man. That choice anchored the Marvel Cinematic Universe across eleven years and billions of dollars in global box office. Downey capped this Hollywood run by capturing the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2024 for Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. Rather than slowing down, he tackled multiple roles in HBO's The Sympathizer, made his Broadway debut in Ayad Akhtar's McNeal, and committed to returning to the comic-book tentpole arena as Victor Von Doom.
