Q1: Has DreamWorks Animation officially locked a theatrical release date for the Donkey spinoff?
A1: No specific date has been locked by Universal Pictures. While Eddie Murphy announced that recording had begun and a spinoff would follow *Shrek 5*, the studio has officially designated the Donkey project as an active development property targeted for the 2027, 2028 production cycle.
Q2: Why are Shrek reaction memes so persistent compared to other 2000s animated movies?

Q3: Will the original voice cast return for the new Shrek and Donkey films?
A3: Eddie Murphy has publicly confirmed his participation. DreamWorks and producer Chris Meledandri have repeatedly stated that creative development for the ongoing revival relies on securing the original central cast, including Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz.
