Was Andrew Really Rushing? Fact-Checking the Reality and Musicology Behind 'Not Quite My Tempo'
Ten years after its release, *Whiplash* continues to provoke debate because it asks an unresolved question about human achievement. Does extreme greatness require extreme cruelty? He has achieved technical perfection inside Fletcher's narrow metronomic cage. Neiman did not discover freedom through the music. He discovered how to survive his captor's tempo.
