Veteran Campaign Walkthrough: Proven Routes to Beat Executive Order and Sog
The single-player campaign is only half the battle. Black Ops 1 boasts some of the most mechanics-heavy Zombies trophies in the series. Completing them requires a blend of solid resource management and cooperative coordination.
The core Zombies accomplishments focus on the launch maps:
- "See Me, Hear Me, Love Me trophy" requires upgrading any weapon through the Pack-a-Punch machine located in the projection room. The "Clairvoyant trophy" asks you to purchase every weapon off the Mystery Box in a single session.
- The Sacrificial Lamb trophy: Widely considered the hardest co-op trophy in the base game. One player must acquire the Crossbow from the Mystery Box and upgrade it via the Pack-a-Punch machine into the "Awful Lawton." Once upgraded, the Crossbow's bolts attract zombies like a monkey bomb. The shooter must fire an upgraded bolt directly into a teammate; that teammate then sprints into a dense crowd, letting the explosion kill at least six zombies. Coordinate this on Round 12 or later when zombie density is high enough to ensure the minimum kill count.
- Unlocked by breaking out of the torture chair in the main menu and completing the campaign, "Five" features the frantic Pentagon Thief. Surfacing past Round 11 requires tight elevator rotations and quick utilization of the winter's howl wonder weapon.
Outside the main Zombies survival mode sits Dead Ops Arcade, accessed through the secret computer terminal in the game’s main menu. Conquering its trophies requires clearing 40 rounds of top-down twin-stick combat to defeat the Silverback Gorilla. While this mode supports up to four players, enemy health pools scale aggressively with party size. Many veteran completionists recommend tackling Dead Ops Arcade solo or with a single dedicated partner, hoarding speed boots, nukes, and lightning boosts specifically for the arena rounds after level 30.
