Uw Lander Hall Housing Deadlines: Priority Application and Room Selection Timeline

Read in-depth perspectives on Uw Lander Hall Housing Deadlines: Priority Application and Room Selection Timeline.

Lander Hall provides two primary room configurations: double rooms with private baths and triple room floor plans. Unlike older North Campus halls that rely on communal gang bathrooms down the hallway, Lander integrates private ensuite bathrooms into almost every unit. The bathroom layout includes an enclosed shower stall, toilet, and sink vanity, meaning room occupants are responsible for purchasing their own cleaning supplies and maintaining sanitation standards throughout the quarter.

The double with private bath is the most requested configuration. Measuring roughly 200 to 220 square feet, these rooms feature two twin XL beds, two adjustable study desks, rolling pedestal drawers, and two standing wardrobes. Because square footage must accommodate the interior bathroom enclosure, floor space requires careful furniture management. Beds can be raised or bunked using campus-issued bed pins to create storage space underneath for luggage, mini-refrigerators, and laundry hampers.

Triple rooms offer an economical entry point with a distinct physical reality. Built into similar footprints or slightly expanded corner layouts, triples introduce a lofted bed framework or a standard bunk setup paired with a single loft. Storage space is split three ways. Each occupant receives a desk, chair, and hanging wardrobe, but floor maneuvering requires constant coordination. Students who prioritize personal space often find triples restrictive, yet the significant drop in quarterly room fees makes them a sensible choice for students managing strict personal budgets.
