Nicholas Galitzine Intimate Scenes Explained: Complete Viewer Guide
By Chloe Bennett
Transitioning from 17th-century court intrigue to modern contemporary romance, Galitzine starred as Hayes Campbell in Michael Showalter's adaptation of The Idea of You. Opposite Anne Hathaway's Solène Marchand, Galitzine played the 24-year-old frontman of global boyband August Moon. The romantic drama relied on intense chemistry and passionate bedroom sequences that highlighted age-gap dynamics and modern celebrity isolation.
Galitzine drew unexpected creative inspiration from Tom Cruise when building Hayes Campbell's on-screen presence. In interviews detailing his process, the actor pointed to Cruise's performance in Jerry Maguire, noting how Cruise balanced charismatic arrogance with raw emotional exposure. Galitzine applied that dynamic directly to his intimate scenes with Hathaway. Behind the closed doors of European luxury hotel suites, Hayes sheds his polished pop-star persona, exposing a lonely young man seeking genuine connection.
The bedroom sequences in the film reflect emotional milestones rather than casual interludes. Each encounter changes the power dynamic between Solène and Hayes, tracking their transition from cautious attraction to profound emotional entanglement.
