By Robert Thorne
Q1: Is Donald Trump currently the most followed person on TikTok?
A: No. Khaby Lame holds the number one spot globally with over 162 million followers. Trump has approximately 14.5 million to 15 million followers, which places him far below the platform's top global tier.
Q2: Why did Trump claim he was number one on the platform?
A: The claim was based on the massive initial view counts of his launch videos, which gathered over one hundred million views in a matter of days, alongside leading other active U.S. political figures in direct account followers.
Q3: How do Trump's TikTok follower numbers compare to other politicians?
A: Within American politics, his numbers are near the top. He quickly surpassed accounts like Bernie Sanders (around 1.6 million) and official Democratic campaign profiles, making him one of the most visible individual U.S. political accounts on the app.
