The Ryobi Hover Disc Craze: How a Viral Parody Fooled the Tool Community

A detailed look at The Ryobi Hover Disc Craze: How a Viral Parody Fooled the Tool Community, covering key takeaways.

Q1: Is the Ryobi Hover Disc a real tool sold by Home Depot?
A1: No. The Ryobi Hover Disc does not exist. It was never designed, patented, manufactured, or distributed by Ryobi or its parent company, Techtronic Industries (TTI). Any website claiming to sell this product is a scam.

Q2: Why did so many people believe the Hover Disc was genuine?
A2: The creator carefully matched Ryobi's distinct visual styling, including corporate branding and color palettes. Because Ryobi's real 18V ONE+ system already includes hundreds of unusual lifestyle and cleaning tools, an unconventional vacuum accessory felt plausible to regular consumers.

Q3: Does Ryobi make any legitimate floor cleaning tools?
A3: Yes. Ryobi produces genuine cordless stick vacuums, motorized multi-surface sweepers, telescoping power scrubbers, and wet/dry shop vacuums compatible with their 18V ONE+ battery system.

Q4: What should you do if you entered payment information on a Hover Disc storefront?
A4: Immediately contact your bank or credit card provider to dispute the unauthorized charge, report the vendor for fraud, and request a replacement card to prevent recurring billing attempts.
