Can you place more than one Checkpoint Flag at a time?
No. Following the November 14 hotfix, players are restricted to a single active flag per climber. Driving a new flag into the ground automatically overwrites and despawns the previous marker, regardless of mountain sector.
What gear do you keep after respawning at an anchor?
When reviving at a checkpoint flag, you retain only the equipment physically stored in your backpack at the moment the flag was set. Loose items dropped on ledges or tools attached to temporary anchor ropes remain where they fell.
Do Checkpoint Flags work in the endgame Death Zone?
No. The Final Ascent update introduced wind speeds above 7,000 meters that immediately destroy deployable canvas flags. Climbers in the summit zone must locate fixed natural shelters to anchor their progress.
