The Evolution of 'Bitches Love Cannons': from Youtube Parody to Global Meme
By Sophia Al-Mansoor
Q1: Did the original Hellsing Ultimate anime ever contain the line?
No. The phrase does not appear anywhere in Kouta Hirano’s manga or the official Geneon/Madhouse anime adaptations. It was written entirely by Team Four Star for their 2011 YouTube abridged series, though many casual viewers frequently confuse it with the official English dub.
Q2: Who voiced Alucard during the delivery of the viral quote?
The line was voiced by Curtis Arnott, widely known in online voice-acting communities by his handle Takahata101. His performance gave Alucard a smug, bass-heavy cadence that defined the series' comedic identity.
Q3: Is the phrase connected to The Boondocks?
Yes. The cadence of the line adapts a joke from the animated series The Boondocks, where the character Riley Freeman declares, "I sent that bitch a smiley face. Bitches love smiley faces." Team Four Star retooled that phrasing into their vampire weapon joke.
