The Complete Guide to Wlw on Tiktok: Meaning, Proper Usage, and Community Etiquette
By David Miller
Q1: What does WLW stand for on TikTok?
A1: WLW stands for "Women Loving Women." It is an inclusive acronym used by creators and viewers to describe content, culture, and relationships involving lesbians, bisexual women, pansexual women, and queer non-binary people attracted to women.
Q2: Is WLW the same thing as lesbian?
A2: No. "Lesbian" refers specifically to women or non-men attracted exclusively to women or non-men. "WLW" is a broader umbrella term that includes lesbians alongside bisexual women, pansexual women, and anyone woman-aligned who experiences attraction to women.
Q3: How do I train my TikTok algorithm to show more WLW content?
A3: To direct your feed toward Sapphic TikTok, actively search for tags like #WLW and #SapphicTok, watch videos under those tags to completion, like and bookmark content from queer creators, and interact with the original audios popular within the community.
