The Complete Guide to 'Cold Hearted Girl' by Weezer: History, Lyrics, and Where to Stream
By Marcus Vance
Q1: Is "Cold Hearted Girl" officially released on any Weezer studio album?
A1: No. The song has never appeared on an official studio album, EP, or commercial compilation released by DGC Records or Interscope.
Q2: Did the full Weezer lineup ever record a studio version of the song?
A2: "Cold Hearted Girl" exists primarily as a solo home recording tracked by Rivers Cuomo. While full-band jams of the riff were auditioned during mid-2000s rehearsal sessions, no fully finished studio master with the entire band was ever finalized.
Q3: Is the track related to "Cold Dark World" from the Red Album?
A3: While both songs date back to overlapping creative eras and explore similar emotional tension, they are entirely distinct compositions. "Cold Dark World" features lead vocals by bassist Scott Shriner, whereas "Cold Hearted Girl" is an independent Rivers Cuomo composition.
Q4: How can I legally purchase a copy of the demo?
A4: You can buy the demo directly from Rivers Cuomo via his Weezify application, where it is included inside one of the comprehensive mid-2000s archival demo bundles.
