'Where You Going Hemi' Explained: Meaning, Creator, and How to Join the Trend
By Marcus Vance
Q1: Who was the original creator behind the 'Where you going Hemi' clip?
A1: The audio originated from a regular pet owner who posted an unscripted clip of their dog, named Hemi, walking away while being spoken to. The sound was subsequently stripped, re-uploaded as an original audio file by meme accounts, and quickly popularized across platform recommendation feeds.
Q2: Why is the dog named 'Hemi'?
A2: "Hemi" is a common pet name, particularly in households that follow automotive culture, referencing Chrysler's iconic hemispherical combustion engine. The dog was simply named after the engine, and the distinctive sound of the owner calling the name contributed to the clip's memorability.
Q3: How do I find the sound on TikTok or Instagram Reels?
A3: Type "Where you going Hemi" into the platform search bar, filter by "Sounds" or "Audio," and select the audio file with the highest number of linked creations. You can also tap directly on the rotating audio icon at the bottom right corner of any video currently using the track.
