Fact-Checking Lala Baptiste Tiktok Rumors: What Is True and What Is Fake?
By Sarah Jenkins
To understand why romantic rumors attach themselves to Baptiste so stubbornly, you have to revisit the fall of 2020. Pop Smoke's Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon dominated the global charts, and director David Wept cast Baptiste directly opposite Lil Tjay for the official music video of "Mood Swings."
The video required authentic screen chemistry. Baptiste and Lil Tjay spent four minutes portraying a volatile, high-passion couple navigating luxury suites and city streets. Interspersed with tribute photographs honoring Pop Smoke, the narrative carried emotional weight. It worked so well that casual audiences instantly assumed the pairing extended beyond the soundstage.
In the months following the premiere, both creators leaned into the promotional momentum. They filmed joint TikTok challenges and made brief appearances on each other's Instagram stories. Yet neither party ever confirmed a formal, exclusive romantic partnership. The public record shows a lucrative creative collaboration that delivered millions of views to both parties, framed against a backdrop of deliberate ambiguity that keeps audience curiosity alive.
