Robert Rodriguez built a distinct cinematic niche by empowering child actors without talking down to their demographic. In We Can Be Heroes, Blair secured the pivotal role of Wild Card opposite Pedro Pascal, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Boyd Holbrook. Unlike his peers who wielded singular, reliable talents, Wild Card possessed every power imaginable but lacked conscious selection. This mechanical quirk required genuine dramatic tension within a lighthearted family film.

Rodriguez deliberately leaned on Blair's natural intensity. During early scene work, directors often guide juvenile performers toward exaggerated cheerfulness. Rodriguez did the opposite, directing Blair to anchor the film's interpersonal conflicts. That screen presence established Blair as one of the most promising young talents of the 2020 holiday box office season, sparking immediate fan inquiries regarding future franchise appearances.
