Michael Cimino's Latest Projects: What He Is Filming and Releasing Right Now
By Sarah Jenkins
Cimino does not treat music as a vanity side project managed by third-party publicists. A self-taught musician who plays guitar and piano, he has released independent singles since 2021, beginning with "Love Addict" and subsequent tracks like "Make Me Hate You." His sound leans heavily toward guitar-driven pop-rock, drawing sonic influences from early 2000s alternative radio and modern bedroom pop.
Rather than signing restrictive 360-degree major-label deals that control image and touring rights, Cimino utilizes direct-to-fan streaming distributions. He pairs music video releases with personal behind-the-scenes content on social platforms. This allows his core fanbase to engage with his songwriting independently of whichever character he happens to be playing on screen.
