Mia Honey Threapleton Career Timeline: from Growing up out of Sight to Starring Roles
Threapleton did not rush into the business as a child star. Her first brush with a film set was an uncredited, brief appearance in the 2014 Alan Rickman-directed period piece A Little Chaos, a film in which her mother starred. That early glimpse showed her the discipline required on location, but she returned immediately to her schooling rather than pursuing management representation.
Her real test came when she was 19. After finishing high school, she began submitting self-recorded audition tapes for independent projects across Europe. That persistence landed her the leading role of Alex in the 2020 Italian-produced psychological thriller Shadows, directed by Carlo Lavagna. Shot primarily in an abandoned hotel deep in the woods of Ireland, the production was physically demanding and insular.
On that set, Threapleton carried the emotional spine of the narrative alongside co-star Lola Petticrew. The project forced her to confront the realities of production without the safety net of studio infrastructure. She had to manage long hours, cold night shoots, and complex character psychology, proving to herself that acting was her chosen trade.
