Mapping the Ambani Dynasty: Full Family Tree of Dhirubhai Ambani’s Children and Successors
Generational transfer is now reshaping both sides of the family tree. The three children of Mukesh and Nita Ambani have taken on distinct operational divisions within Reliance Industries:
Akash Ambani, an economics graduate from Brown University, serves as Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm. He led the technical rollout of the pan-India 5G standalone network and orchestrated partnerships with global technology firms, including Google and Meta.
Isha Ambani, who studied psychology and South Asian studies at Yale before completing an MBA at Stanford, serves as Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures. She oversees a retail network of more than 18,500 physical storefronts, along with high-growth e-commerce properties like Ajio and luxury retail partnerships across Asia.
Anant Ambani, also educated at Brown University, directs the conglomerate's green energy shift. He leads the development of the 5,000-acre Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Jamnagar, managing large-scale capital deployments across solar photovoltaics, green hydrogen, and advanced battery storage technology.
In the parallel branch, Anil and Tina Ambani’s elder son, Jai Anmol Ambani, stepped into senior management during his family's severe debt crunches. Anmol earned a management degree from Warwick Business School and joined Reliance Capital in 2014, eventually joining its board in 2016. He led negotiations for asset sales and minority equity placements across Reliance Nippon Life Insurance and Reliance Infrastructure. His younger brother, Jai Anshul Ambani, has remained focused on private equity and defense manufacturing projects, intentionally keeping a low public profile.
