King Richard’s Faire 2026 Opening Details: Dates, Schedule, and Milestone Highlights
Patron immersion relies heavily on period dress, but strict safety mandates govern entry. Costume dress code guidelines welcome Tudor, Renaissance, Celtic, and fantasy garb, but safety officers enforce clear operational boundaries:
- Weapons Peace-Tying: All period-accurate steel blades, daggers, rapiers, and swords must be sheathed in hard scabbards and completely "peace-tied" with zip-ties or safety wire at the main security inspection checkpoint. Unsheathed metal is strictly forbidden.
- Modern Firearms & Replicas: Functional firearms, simulated modern weapons, realistic gun toys, and ammunition are barred from the premises.
- Bows & Arrows: Decorative wooden or composite bows are permitted only if strung loosely; all arrows must remain blunt-tipped, securely bound, and kept inside quivers.
- Public Decency: Attire must comply with local Carver public standards. Costumes must provide adequate chest, groin, and gluteal coverage for an all-ages family environment.
