The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten English Dub: Cast List, Episodes, and Audio Proof
By James H. Sterling
When Toho and studio Project No.9 debuted the adaptation of Saekisan’s light novel series in January 2023, the show became an instant commercial hit. The premise was deceptively simple: an umbrella shared in the pouring rain leads an untidy high schooler and his perfectionist neighbor into a domestic routine of shared dinners and unspoken mutual affection. Despite strong streaming ratings, Crunchyroll chose not to include the title in its winter 2023 express dub lineup.
Budget allocations for romance anime dubs often lag behind high-profile shonen blockbusters and fantasy action series. While series like Chainsaw Man and Vinland Saga received simultaneous multitrack treatments, low-conflict slice-of-life titles frequently waited months or years for secondary production orders. Fans circulated change petitions, Reddit threads tracked licensing rumors every cour, and disc distributors remained quiet. The delayed rollout reflected routine streaming catalog management: licensors often reserve backlog dubbing budgets until a property's sequel enters the active release schedule.
