Jovi and Yara Relationship Timeline: from Franchise Romance to Their Latest Update
Jovi and Yara met in 2018 through a travel dating app while vacationing in Budapest, Hungary. Jovi, a native of Larose, Louisiana, worked in subsea robotics, a high-income specialty that required him to spend months at sea and allowed extensive international travel during off-shifts. Yara, a native of Kyiv, Ukraine, shared his appetite for global travel. Their whirlwind early dates quickly evolved into a serious long-distance partnership across continents.
When Yara learned she was pregnant during an international getaway, Jovi proposed. Tragedy struck shortly after when Yara suffered a miscarriage abroad while Jovi was away on a work assignment. The trauma exposed early fractures in communication, yet both chose to pursue a future together in the United States. Jovi filed for Yara's K-1 visa, setting up their entrance into Season 8 of TLC's flagship series, 90 Day Fiancé, filmed largely throughout 2020.
Yara arrived in New Orleans to culture shock and lifestyle clashes. Jovi’s passion for Bourbon Street nightlife clashed directly with Yara’s domestic expectations and urban European sensibilities. Despite high-friction arguments involving family dynamics, most notably with Jovi’s mother, Gwen Eymard, the couple discovered Yara was pregnant again. In February 2020, they eloped in Las Vegas in a low-key ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator, welcoming their daughter, Mylah Dufren, in September 2020.
