Where Is Jeffrey Dahmer's Brother Now? the Truth About David Dahmer's Complete Disappearance
By Maya Lin-Takahashi
In the fall of 2022, Netflix released Ryan Murphy's Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The miniseries surpassed 1 billion hours viewed, igniting a viral wave of true-crime sleuthing across TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube. Millions of viewers watched actor Kieran Tamondong portray a young David Dahmer, sparking renewed curiosity about the real brother's current location.
Amateur online investigators scoured Ohio and Wisconsin public registries, cross-referenced ancestry records, and investigated property deeds. Every effort hit a legal wall. David had not simply adopted a common pseudonym; he had integrated into an entirely different community with zero digital overlap. When Lionel Dahmer passed away at an Ohio hospice facility in December 2023 at the age of 87, local obituaries omitted David's new name and location entirely, preserving the protective seal his father had honored for over three decades.
