Is Sombr Gay? Inside the Vmas George Michael Tribute Debate and Dating Revelations
By Marcus Vance
When photos emerged in July 2025 showing Boose leaving an album listening party alongside Addison Rae, gossip accounts seized on the clip. Headlines from lifestyle publications like Betches chronicled how quickly a three-second video transformed into an alleged romance. The speculation ignored a straightforward reality: young pop musicians frequently frequent the same industry circles.
The Addison Rae episode illustrated how quickly internet commentators manufacture narratives to fill an information void. When an artist keeps their private life relatively guarded, followers grasp at every fleeting interaction. Within a fortnight, social media commentary swung wildly from insisting Boose was secretly dating an A-list influencer to asserting he was closeted after the VMAs tribute.
This whiplash highlights how algorithm-driven gossip operates. Audiences often prefer sensational speculation over unremarkable truths. For Boose, both the Addison Rae rumors and the sexual orientation theories served as unwanted distractions from his studio work.
