Is Donald Trump Really Number One on Tiktok? the Real Numbers Behind His Claim
By Chloe Bennett
TikTok rankings are measured primarily by verified follower counts. On this metric, Donald Trump does not appear anywhere near the platform's top 100 creators.
The actual king of TikTok remains Senegalese-Italian creator Khaby Lame, whose silent comedy skits command over 160 million followers. YouTube juggernaut MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) commands more than 100 million followers on TikTok alone, while dancer Charli D'Amelio sits above 150 million. Even within entertainment royalty, Taylor Swift maintains a community exceeding 33 million followers, more than double Trump's tally.
| Account / Figure | Primary Category | Follower Count (Approx.) | Global Platform Rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| Khaby Lame | Comedy / Creator | 162.5M | #1 Globally |
| Charli D'Amelio | Lifestyle / Dance | 155.0M | #2 Globally |
| MrBeast | Entertainment / Stunts | 104.2M | Top 5 Globally |
| Taylor Swift | Music / Entertainment | 33.1M | Top 100 Globally |
| Donald Trump | Politics / News | 14.8M | Outside Top 200 Globally |
Fact-checking outlets including Snopes and Hindustan Times labeled the assertion false when interpreted as overall platform size. Swift commands more than twice his audience. The platform’s top content creators outpace his follower numbers tenfold.
