Where Is 'I Gotta Put Me First Lucious' from? the Viral Tiktok Audio Explained
By Alexander Ross
Black television dramas from the 2010s have proven to be an endless goldmine for audio trends across short-form platforms. From Real Housewives of Atlanta reunions to Lee Daniels' heightened scripts on Empire, these shows feature high-octane dialogue performed by exceptionally skilled actors operating at peak theatrical intensity.
Internet culture often treats sincerity with discomfort. High drama feels too heavy for casual consumption, so digital communities systematically flatten it into farce. Calling a romantic partner, a boss, or a pet "Lucious", often misspelled in comment sections as "luscious", grants the user temporary access to Cookie Lyon's indomitable swagger. It lets ordinary people borrow extreme theatrical armor for mundane personal situations.
