Mark Grayson's triumph over Grand Regent Thragg marks the rare comic book conclusion that delivered on years of narrative setup without taking shortcuts. The showdown avoided cheap plot devices or magical artifacts. It forced two characters with divine power to settle their dispute in the most inhospitable environment in the solar system, where neither could rely on backup.

By slaying Thragg, Mark did not inherit a conqueror's crown; he dismantled the entire philosophy of Viltrumite dominance. The battle proved that survival in a violent cosmos depends not on pure strength, but on the willingness to sacrifice oneself so future generations can live without fear.
