Inside Costco's $47 Family Lounge Pool: Setup, Durability, and Real Backyard Photos
By Robert Thorne
Shoppers browsing the summer aisle often find themselves cross-shopping between this $47 multi-person basin and individual luxury floats. Simultaneously hitting the club's shelves is the popular $99 Big Joe Aura Drift inflatable chaise, an oversized standalone pool float built for open-water lakes or private inground pools.
Understanding the use case prevents buyer's remorse:
- Costco $47 Inflatable Family Lounge Pool: Designed as a self-contained body of water for yards without a swimming pool. It creates an instant patio cooling zone for parents and children on hot afternoons without requiring a dedicated pool facility.
- Costco $99 Big Joe Aura Drift Chaise: Designed purely as a floating lounger inside an existing pool or calm body of water. Constructed with welded heavy-duty materials aimed at personal relaxation, it serves zero utility as a standalone backyard cooling station.
If your backyard lacks a pool, buying an expensive chaise float leaves you stranded on dry patio pavers. The $47 lounge pool remains the only product between the two that solves the problem of total heat relief without preexisting recreational water access.
