Inside Brian Eno’s Private Family: Meet His Daughters and the Creative Legacy They Inherited
Any examination of the Eno household is incomplete without Anthea Norman-Taylor. Meeting in the early 1980s, Norman-Taylor became Eno’s manager and administrative backbone, eventually marrying him in 1988. Together, they founded Opal Music, the bespoke management company and label that handled projects for Harold Budd, Daniel Lanois, and Michael Brook.
Norman-Taylor provided the structural discipline that Eno’s freewheeling generative experiments required. Colleagues often noted that while Eno generated hundreds of theoretical frameworks a week, Anthea determined which ideas received financing, contracts, and gallery space. Within this organized environment, the couple raised two daughters, Irial Eno (born 1989) and Darla Eno (born 1991), cultivating an environment where visual art, technology, and literature formed the daily conversational backdrop.
