Ice Spice's Signature Move: Watch the Clips That Broke the Internet Worldwide
By James H. Sterling
Collaborating with Nicki Minaj marked a decisive pivot in Ice Spice’s career trajectory. When the duo paired up for the remix of "Princess Diana" in April 2023, the promotion bypassed standard corporate rollouts. Instead, they took their dynamic directly to smartphone cameras.
On April 16, 2023, both artists shared identical behind-the-scenes footage from their recording studio. The clip showed Ice Spice and Minaj dancing and twerking side-by-side to their newly cut audio. As reported by XXL Mag, the snippet instantly swept across social feeds, generating millions of impressions within its first twelve hours online.
The visual chemistry between rap’s reigning titan and its fastest-rising newcomer carried clear symbolic weight. Minaj effectively passed a cultural baton, while Ice Spice proved her informal charm could hold its own next to one of hip-hop’s sharpest media veterans. The clip served as an unvarnished showcase of peer validation that drove streaming numbers for the remix straight to the top of the charts.
