How to Watch Hacksaw Ridge: Complete Netflix Guide, Region Availability, and Best War Alternatives
By Marcus Vance
Q1: Why can't I find Hacksaw Ridge on my US Netflix account?
A1: Distribution rights for the film in the United States currently reside outside Netflix's domestic window. Lionsgate routinely cycles the film between cable networks, rival SVOD services like Starz, and free ad-supported streaming platforms.
Q2: Did Desmond Doss really kick a grenade away from his men?
A2: Yes. During night combat on Okinawa, a Japanese grenade landed in Doss’s foxhole. He attempted to kick it away with his heavy boot to shield his fellow soldiers; the detonation lodged seventeen pieces of shrapnel into his legs and hips.
Q3: What digital platforms offer Hacksaw Ridge for on-demand rental?
A3: If the movie is unavailable on your subscription apps, you can rent or buy it in 4K resolution across all major transactional stores, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Movies, and Vudu/Fandango at Home.
Q4: Will Hacksaw Ridge return permanently to Netflix in the future?
A4: Permanent placement is unlikely. Independent studio releases rely on revolving licensing fees to maximize long-term catalog revenue, meaning the movie will continue to appear on Netflix for brief multi-month windows rather than staying indefinitely.
