By Robert Thorne
The audio did not stay trapped within original character sketches. As it migrated between platforms, it mutated into an expansive telekinesis meme parody that crossed nearly every major media fandom.
| Phase & Timeline | Primary Platform | Artistic Technique | Typical Subjects |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1: Emergence (Late 2022) | YouTube Shorts & Discord | Static redraws, crude MS Paint animatics | Original avatars, stick figures |
| Phase 2: Formalization (Early 2023) | YouTube Animation Community | Hand-drawn 2D, smear frames, impact cuts | Original webcomic characters, nana2514 edits |
| Phase 3: Fandom Explosion (2023, 2024) | TikTok & X (Twitter) | Cinematic anime sakuga parodies, 3D Blender models | Mob Psycho 100, Dragon Ball, Sonic, Jujutsu Kaisen |
| Phase 4: Archival Classic (2025, 2026) | Multi-platform archives | Multi-animator projects (MAPs), high-res re-renders | Pop culture icons, nostalgic callbacks |
The progression reflects how modern internet artifacts mature. What began as an experimental YouTube animation trend mutated into a pervasive TikTok viral sound, prompting animators to push the visual fidelity higher with every iteration. Production standards rose dramatically as artists sought to outdo one another in execution.
