Scoring closely tracks the arithmetic of horseshoes and cornhole. Every round is scored only after all six darts have flown, using a net-point differential where identical throws nullify one another.

Points fall into three distinct tiers:

  • Closest Dart (3 Points): The single dart resting nearest to the target marker receives 3 points. Only one player can score this tier per round.
  • In-Count Supporting Darts (1 Point each): Any other dart belonging to the winning player that is closer to the target marker than the opponent’s best dart earns 1 additional point.
  • The Target Hit / Bullseye (10 Points): In official formats, if a dart lands directly on top of the target marker and achieves full suction adhesion, a rare shot informally called a "Wigglenobber", the throwing player is instantly credited with 10 points.

If Player A sticks their best dart 2 inches from the target and a second dart 4 inches away, while Player B lands their best dart 5 inches away, Player A collects 4 net points (3 points for closest, plus 1 point for the secondary dart). Player B gets zero. If both players stick their primary darts at an identical distance, those darts cancel out, and the next-closest darts determine the round’s victor.

Games run until a player reaches or exceeds exactly 21 points at the conclusion of a completed frame. Several tournament organizers enforce a "bust" rule: exceeding 21 resets that player's score to 15, keeping pressure intense during the endgame.
