How Jon Hamm's Club Scene Sparked a Global Music Resurgence for Dj Kato
By Alexander Ross
Q1: What scene does the viral Jon Hamm club dancing clip actually come from?
The footage stems from an on-screen appearance where Hamm’s character lets his guard down during an upscale lounge/party sequence, capturing him nodding to the beat in an impeccably fitted suit with drinks flowing around him.
Q2: What is the exact title of the song used in the Jon Hamm meme?
The song is "Turn The Lights Off" by Danish artist DJ Kato (featuring vocals by Jon Nørgaard), originally issued in 2009 and remixed for an international release in 2010.
Q3: Did DJ Kato re-release or update the track after the meme went viral?
Kato's management team moved quickly to push remastered club cuts, extended DJ edits, and new spatial audio mixes to streaming platforms, capitalizing on the song's massive viral traffic without altering its original production identity.
