Haaland Chant or Tiktok Sound? the Real Truth Behind the 'Hahaha Haha Ha' Meme
By Alexander Ross
Q1: Did the "hahaha haha ha" meme originate on TikTok?
A1: No. While TikTok popularized the audio worldwide, the underlying melody and laughing cadence came from the 1979 pop song "Moskau" by Dschinghis Khan, adapted in 2022 by Manchester City football supporters as a chant for Erling Haaland.
Q2: Why did Haaland become a viral meme in countries where football isn't the primary sport?
A2: The striker's unusual physical presence, expressive facial reactions, and mechanical goal-scoring output made him prime material for visual humor. Digital creators across East Asian platforms used his clips to represent unstoppable force and absurd outcomes, stripping the clips of athletic context.
Q3: How did the stadium chant turn into an EDM remix?
A3: Amateur beatmakers and short-form creators routinely pull audio snippets from viral stadium clips, isolate vocal hooks, adjust the tempo to 125, 130 BPM, and add basslines to make the files match standard video editing rhythms.
