From the Adl Summit to the Academy: Documents and Speeches Showing Schwimmer's Faith Advocacy
Schwimmer’s focus on his Jewish heritage does not exist in isolation. He has spent more than two decades serving on the board of directors of the Rape Treatment Center at the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, advocating for victims of sexual violence regardless of race or background. He has funded educational anti-racism initiatives and worked alongside Black and Latino theater artists in Chicago and Los Angeles.
His approach to antisemitism advocacy reflects that history. He has repeatedly asserted that fighting hatred directed at Jewish communities cannot be divorced from combating Islamophobia, anti-Black racism, or gender-based violence. The goal is coalition building. Schwimmer’s speeches insist that true solidarity requires defending allies when it is unpopular, inconvenient, or dangerous to do so.
