Franklin's Fate in Grand Theft Auto Online: What Is Officially Canon?
By Marcus Vance
Franklin’s current enterprise answers questions about his mentors that persisted for years. While Franklin built F. Clinton and Partner alongside a brilliant tech expert named Imani, he did not abandon his former crew.
Michael De Santa fulfilled his lifelong dream of legitimate Hollywood success. Franklin openly confirms Michael is still alive, working down at the movie lot as an executive producer. This squares directly with Michael’s surviving arc in the main campaign, where he helped produce the blockbuster feature Meltdown. Rather than robbing banks, Michael is managing budgets, screaming at actors, and enjoying his domestic retirement with Amanda in Rockford Hills.
Trevor Philips remains an untamed force, though slightly distanced from the agency's polished public image. Agency personnel and contact dialogues acknowledge Trevor's violent antics across Blaine County. Trevor has transformed Trevor Philips Enterprises into an eccentric, volatile empire, avoiding city life while remaining in contact with key figures in Franklin’s orbit. The trio survived their suicide mission on Devin Weston and Haines, split their tens of millions, and carved out independent lives across San Andreas.
