Fact-Checking Tv Girl: Band Origins, Real Names, and Common Internet Myths
By Chloe Bennett
Rather than locking themselves into a formula, TV Girl has spent recent seasons stretching into unexpected creative territory. The breakthrough collaboration with Jordana on Summer's Over proved Petering could successfully share production and vocal space with modern contemporaries without diluting the band's aesthetic signature.
That collaborative streak has continued into new sonic spaces. Late 2025 and early 2026 saw Petering team up with tropical-exotica producer Monster Rally for the single "Incredibly Blind," which features vocal work from X-Cetra. The track forms part of Monster Rally's first full non-instrumental album, a project that unites TV Girl alongside artists like Toledo and Mei Semones. The collaboration showcases Petering's ongoing interest in surf-psych textures and dusty lounge music, demonstrating that the project’s sample-first philosophy continues to evolve.
Concurrently, the band’s touring footprint has expanded overseas. Scheduled appearances across major European destinations in 2026, including headline showcases at Belfast's Waterfront Hall and high-billing slots at international festivals like Primavera Sound, signal that TV Girl has comfortably transitioned from a cult internet secret to an established, enduring touring enterprise.
