The Exact Episode Behind the 'Mordecai and Rigby Shocked' Meme Explained
By James H. Sterling
Q1: What episode does the Mordecai and Rigby shocked meme come from?
The meme comes from Season 2, Episode 1 of Regular Show, titled "Ello Gov'nor." The exact scene occurs at approximately 1 minute and 48 seconds into the episode.
Q2: What are Mordecai and Rigby actually looking at during the scene?
They are watching a fictional British horror movie on VHS about an evil, sentient vintage taxicab that runs over pedestrians. They are frozen in terror on their living room floor.
Q3: Is the shocked reaction face from a scene with Benson yelling?
No. Although Benson yelling at the park groundskeepers is one of the most common running gags in Regular Show, the shocked reaction template has no connection to Benson. The duo is alone inside the house when the frame occurs.
Q4: Why is the meme trending again right now?
The resurgence is driven by the premiere of Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, a nine-episode series revival that prompted widespread nostalgic rewatches and HD remixes across social video feeds.
