Buckles stepped into an even brighter cultural spotlight in 2021 when she began dating Atlanta rap icon Jeffery Lamar Williams, known as Young Thug. When Williams was arrested in May 2022 on state racketeering charges, triggering the longest criminal trial in Georgia history, Buckles chose to stand visibly beside him.
For over two years, her presence in the Fulton County courtroom became a regular fixture of national news broadcasts. She attended hearings, used her social platforms to advocate for his release, and regularly updated fans on his emotional state. Her loyalty challenged typical industry assumptions about young celebrity relationships.
That dedication culminated in an unforgettable moment following Williams’s release. The surprise proposal made headlines worldwide, cementing her status as an influential cultural figure whose personal life generated immense interest.
