Fact Check: What Is the Default R6 Sensitivity Multiplier and How Does It Work?
Hipfire calculations solve only half the formula. Aiming down sights brings another critical parameter into play: `AimDownSightsMouseMultiplierUnit`, which also defaults to 0.020000.
Before Operation Shadow Legacy fundamentally reworked the weapon optic system, Siege calculated ADS through a flat global slider. That outdated system created jarring visual friction because different scopes magnified targets without scaling player movement to match.
The current game architecture calculates ADS values per magnification tier (1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, 2.5x, 3.0x, 5.0x, and 12.0x). Every individual slider interacts with the underlying `AimDownSightsMouseMultiplierUnit`.
If you match your optic tracking speed across visual zooms, you must balance the optic slider against your fov scaling multiplier. A player targeting a 1:1 ADS sensitivity ratio on a 1.0x red dot optic wants their focal-plane displacement to match their hipfire flick distance. Achieving that balance requires calculating how your chosen Field of View scales down when entering optics. The raw configuration file applies these formulas before the display frame renders.
