Everything to Know About Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Father: Dashrath Gaikwad’s Life, Career, and Influence
By Chloe Bennett
In June 2023, the family expanded its connection to Indian sports when Ruturaj married Utkarsha Pawar, a professional cricketer who has represented Maharashtra in domestic competitions as an all-rounder. Utkarsha’s own journey through the domestic grind brought another layer of shared athletic understanding into Dashrath and Savita's home.
The wedding in Mahabaleshwar mirrored Dashrath’s lifelong priorities: simple, family-centric, and devoid of performative excess. Utkarsha, who trains as a fast bowler, fits seamlessly into a household where early morning alarms, fitness diets, and physical therapy sessions are treated as regular domestic duties rather than glamorous routines. Dashrath’s role has shifted from active administrative guide to quiet grandfatherly support, offering an anchor of normalcy whenever the intense international calendar permits his son to return home to Pune.
