Elden Henson News Tracker: Born Again Revelations to Chicago Med Season 11
By James H. Sterling
Henson’s transition from a flagship Disney+ Marvel series to an NBC procedural illustrates an ongoing shift across the television industry. During the height of the streaming expansion, character actors frequently signed exclusive holding deals that kept them locked away for multi-year production gaps. A single eight-episode streaming season could easily tie up an actor's schedule for eighteen months, limiting their ability to work elsewhere.
As studios rationalize streaming output and reduce episode counts, broadcast television remains an essential engine for reliable working actors. A guest role on a stalwart series like Chicago Med offers substantial reach. Broadcast procedurals continue to pull millions of live-plus-same-day viewers and retain massive international syndication value. For an established actor, stepping onto the Chicago soundstages maintains visibility and creative momentum between major studio assignments.
